Industry Projects

Our projects are designed by experts in the industry to reflect industry standards. By working through our projects, Learners will gain a practical understanding of what they will take on at a larger-scale in the industry. In total, there are 2 Projects that are available in this program.

Analysis and design of an underground water tank using STAAD.Pro

  • In this project, the learners will need to create a full-scaled 3D STAAD.Pro model of the underground water tank complying with the calculated demand, site constraints, and best practise guidelines for FEA. The final model should consist of all the applicable loadings on the structure, support conditions, material specifications, and an average mesh size of 500 mm. The modelling of the entire geometry shall be based on a centre line approach, and the model should be devoid of any errors or warnings.

Post processing of results from analysis and design of an underground water tank using STAAD.Pro

In this project, the learners will perform the post-processing of the analysis results obtained for the 3D model of an underground tank with given dimensions using STAAD.Pro, which starts with a structural stability check of the UG water tank. This would be ensured by checking the base pressure and settlement under the slab. If these limits are not satisfied, then the size needs to be revised.
